Listen...I know you are probably tired of trying things to get pregnant and now that you are going for IVF, you are leaving everything in the hands of the doctors that are supposed to be experts on this.
but did you know that IVF success comes mainly from what you do and not just what your doctors do?
Yes, of course having a great doctor is a big part of the equation but it is NOT the biggest part of the equation.
I learned from other successful women early in the process that if you don't cover all your bases and ask doctors for specific things, you most likely end up in the "several-rounds-of-IVF boat" before you see success.
I learned after years of research before starting IVF, after many (many) conversations in waiting rooms of fertility clinics, after cyber-stalking several FB IVF groups for years, consulting with more than 10 IVF renown doctors (in U.S. and Europe), and documenting it all, that there are KEY THINGS one most do to INCREASE YOUR IVF SUCCESS RATE.
A few more things I learned along the way...
- Doctors have a lot of patients since there is no shortage of infertility. Therefore, don't expect any hand-holding through the process
- Doctors rely A LOT on their staff to coordinate your cycle, shots, procedures, calendars, etc. These nurses also have lots of patients and most of their work is manual so don't assume they don't make mistakes (they are human after all!)
- Most IVF couples rely too much on the Doctor and don't ask questions.
- There are no guarantees in this IVF journey, but THERE ARE ways to influence YOUR IVF success.
- IVF is never a straight line, it's more like a rollercoaster - and that is OK and normal
- IVF is not a walk in the park, but if you educate yourself, ask questions, and do the homework - it can be an empowering (and successful)process!

- ADVOCATE FOR YOURSELF! No one else will and you have every right to.
